Each house in Westeros has its own words that were special to them. "Winter is Coming," were the House Stark words. "Growing stronger," were the ones for House Tyrell. "Ours is Fury," were the words for House Baratheon. "Hear me roar," were the ones of House Lannister.

House Spyre had its own words, "from the ashes we rise." House Spyre had risen from the ashes of the Targaryen Conquest hundreds of years ago, they had survived Robert's Rebellion. Since the Targaryen Conquest, House Spyre had stayed out of Westeros politics in King's Landing. The phoenix had been dormant for so long that most people had forgotten the ending to the House Spyre words. "From the ashes we rise, ready to destroy our enemies."

The phoenix had risen and was ready to destroy all of their enemies, starting with those who resided in King's Landing.

1 part Complete
Sandor Clegane had a sister, two years younger, who was not murdered as a child by Gregor but survived and made it to Casterly Rock. Leanor is surprisingly kind, tactful and utterly dauntless - having spent her childhood in a house of horrors, what else could possibly scare her? Certainly not the spiteful daughter of Lord Tywin... * For as long as she could remember, Leanor knew to stay away from her brother Gregor. He was the shadow over her whole life; the village children ran away when they saw him, as he was known to be free with his fists, a cruel bully they could do nothing against no matter how many complaints their parents made to Ser Willem. Even the dogs wouldn't go anywhere near him, expecting a vicious, unwarranted kick. Whenever Leanor knew she had caught his attention, a dull sense of dread overcame her. Most of the time he would just swing at her, either laughing when she fell and cried out, or cursing if she dodged and quickly ran away (something she got increasingly good at doing). He could scarcely be bothered to ever chase her, she was simply something convenient to lash out at. But she was terrified of her brother, and she knew Sandor was too; he just showed it by being angry and lashing out himself. Not at her, though. Never at her. Where Sandor fought back, Leanor learned to melt into the shadows, to pass unnoticed without attracting any attention. Out of sight, out of mind. And when she couldn't avoid being noticed, she made herself as unobtrusive, polite and mild-mannered as possible, so as not to raise his ire. * A fun what-if that was never meant to be published but ran away with me. In which a girl of Valyrian descent, finds herself in Westeros with impure intentions. I suck at prologues, but here is a small glimpse. ""Right, so yada yada yada, 50 years before The Doom, there was a prophecy by one of the Targaryen descendants, Daenys the Dreamer. Unfortunately, she was as unreliable as a cup of water against a volcanic eruption; her dreams came in riddles, and she herself couldn't decipher them. There were more reliable seers, but she was famous because she had a good vision about some event that boosted the Targayens' power. Anyway, she stated that something would destroy Valyria in the future, but she did not specify what, and she got mocked for it. Seeing as the Targaryens were extremely loyal to one another, an insult to one is an insult to the entire family. Then, however, a more reliable seer in the Targaryen family had a vision that was more specific about the impending doom, including when it would occur, how it would occur, and what it would do. Aenar Targaryen, the head of the Targaryen family, was petty and did not wish for the other houses to know about this. People ridiculed them more because they believed he was acting on Daeny's dream when he began moving the family's assets from Valyria and Dragonstone. If you are not catching on, House Targaryens was a house of seers."
