It's been 25 years since Firestar led ThunderClan. Now, there are new Clans in the forest: FireClan, SkyClan, RainClan, and MoonClan. In Fireclan, Goldenstar has just been named leader. But her deputy, Diamondpelt, feels uneasy. StarClan had shared a dream with Diamondpelt, and Goldenstar was in terrible danger! When she was to travel to the moonstone to recive her nine lives, she wouldn't make it back alive. And if she did, she would be in terrible shape! There is an evil roaming the forest, and it's directly targeting FireClan.
