When 15-year-old Sophie Foster gets randomly chosen at the public reaping in District 12, along with her cousin Dex to go to the Hunger Games, her life begins to fall apart.
She is thrown into the area with twenty-three other tributes, forced to fight to the death. She makes allies - friends - and then has to watch them die.
If Sophie doesn't win these Games, she'll be leaving behind her parents back in 12, her relatives and everyone that depends on her. If she makes it out of the arena she'll go home, never to be the same again, because twenty-three children go into the arena.
And only one comes out.
