Dean has a little problem.  All his life, girls have been the center of his world (below Sammy of course). If in any amazing miracle where Dean was able to stop the world from ending multiple times and go to live a normal life (which was never ideal) Dean has always imagined a girl right by his side.

But one day, after Castiel saves Dean in a mission against a few Wendigos, Dean realizes that his center of his world was multi gendered. Or, multi species. So when Sam catches wind of a job that requires two people to go undercover as a couple, Dean willingly pairs himself with Cass.

But it's not because he's gay. He just needs to...to clear up his feelings that are obviously wrong. Or at least, that was his excuse.All Rights Reserved

Mary told him he was a perfect little girl when he wore the pink dresses and little bows, but he felt awkward with what Mary put him in. John, who wanted a son, was happy to let Dean wear boy's clothes and throw the baseball around. Sure, Sammy came four years later, and he loved Sammy, but Dean was older and easier to play boy games with until Sam got old enough.
