28 years ago demon king Sebastian Knightley had finally had enough. As demon king he is stronger and more powerful than any other supernatural being. Sebastian had enough of the supernatural beings (such as werewolves, shifters, witches, warlocks, vampires, hybrids, ect.) hiding their existence from the human race. So he had the world taken over. Basically enslaving humanity. With humans under his control Sebastian has almost everything he could he could imagine. All he craves for is his other half. His mate. Almost all supernatural beings have a mate. Sebastian is a centuries old demon and still has not found his mate.
But that's all about to change.
Arabella is a 19 year old human female, nearing her 20th birthday. She lives alone with her abusive and neglectful mother, never having known her father. Arabella was only a child the day the Earth fell into the hands of the demon king. Since then, Arabella not only fell prey to demons and other supers, but also her mother. A socially awkward loner, she keeps to herself the best she can. Since the king of demons took control over the world, things have changed drastically. Schools now teach about the beings that plague and now freely roam the earth, their culture and their history. Humans can only have jobs that are given to them or have been requested and approved of. Since grade schools have students attend until age 20 now, Arabella is still a student in high school. She also happens to be a favorite to bully. When her class takes a tour to the king's castle everything changes.
