"What if you were given those powers to be the best maid in the world?"
Hal laughed nervously at the joke from his best friend while staring at the wide rift in the sky. Somehow, this giant tear had opened, seemingly dividing the sky in half, but nobody apart from him can see it. Not only that but the other side of the rift appeared to be the same, yet different from Earth. Along with the opening of the rift came Hal's strikingly powerful, and extraordinarily deadly psychic powers. Hal must learn how to control and use these powers rapidly, for eyes on both sides of the rift have their eyes on him.
Note: This is VERY MUCH so a work in progress. I intend for this novel to be over 250 pages worth of story alone, and have multiple sequels. The ultimate goal is to build a universe and keep writing as long as people are enjoying it.
Update: I went back and fixed A LOT of continuity errors, and due to the sheer amount that existed I am bringing on a co-author to prevent issues like that in the future.

At first I thought I'd pick something a bit out of my comfort zone (so.... NOT SciFi for once...) to expand my horizon, but when I saw a prompt about time travel I was immediately inspired. Kalisa Warner is a 22 year old orphan who works for an assassins agency, she's tasked with one of the hardest cases of her generation that so many others have failed to solve. Meeting new people along the way and gathering evidence she must always stay in her toes, you never know who to trust. Here's and sample from the first chapter: "I'm still standing." I whisper reassuringly to myself. Everyone goes through tough times in life, sometimes it's all you know, sometimes when you least expect it. But the only reason there's so much dysfunction in this world of ours is because people forget that they're not the only ones who suffer. Everything I've ever gone through, all the heartaches and lonely nights have all led up to this moment. I know nothing will be the same after I receive this assignment, I'm counting on it in fact. The room I'm standing in is on the top floor of a towering skyscraper inside my boss's office. It's a smaller space than I expected with medals and certificates lining the walls, and a sleek glass table with its back to the large array of widows. He sits on a large black chair, his elbows resting on the table. He runs his caramel hands through his golden locks, exposing a neck tattoo that I hadn't noticed before. He's wearing a sharp black suit and his deep green eyes scan my figure, looking for cracks or weaknesses, assessing me before I even open my mouth. Perhaps wondering if I'm ready for the assignment I'm about to receive. I straighten my shoulders, adjusting my posture, and place my hands behind my back, interlacing them. He leans back in his chair, eyeing me again. "Good afternoon Ms. Warner" He says in a deep voice.Complete

THE ONLY REASON I HAVEN'T TAKEN THIS DOWN IS SENTIMENTALITY. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Sophia Dawn is a nerd that is bullied on a daily basis until she starts hanging out with 4 other social outcasts.
