"Just can't keep your hands off me, can you?" he asked, infuriatingly. "What are you?!?" she asked in a fit of frustration. His face clouded over instantly and he stepped back twice, putting a good five feet between them. Leah wondered if he was bipolar, his mood seemed to change in flashes. "I am an honor student, of course." he said, brushing non-existent dirt from his white coat and adjusting the thick glasses she had not noticed he was wearing until now. Looking up into her eyes he spoke sharply "An honor student who is very shy, doesn't have a motorcycle, and doesn't know anyone at this school." For a second she just stared at him, wondering what he was getting at. The way he described himself was the opposite of his personality. Why was this guy so obsessed with being a mystery? Why was she so obsessed with figuring him out? Instead of some witty comeback or comment all she could formulate was "Normal people don't talk like that." He relaxed again and rolled his eyes. "Princess, just do me a favor and keep what happened last night under wraps, ok?" She nodded, not really seeing what he was trying to hide. Suddenly she blurted out "Only if I can come over tonight." "Why?" She didn't know why, she just needed to know more about him. "Its my only offer- unless you want to be outed...?" He grinned at her threat and nodded, walking away from her once again. After a few minutes of standing alone in the hallway did she realize that she had sort of asked him out on a date. Oh, great, she thought, now he'll be insufferable.

Maybe

An internal voice whispered, "Call him." But I chose not to. I dismissed it once more, saying, "He never liked me anyway." Yet the dilemma lingered. "But maybe he does. The way he looks at you... it's different." Out of nowhere, he glanced my way. My heartbeat quickened, sending shivers down my spine. I averted my gaze, pretending to look around. "Has he noticed me? No, wait-oh my god." --- After switching high schools, Nina discovered a new way of life. She fell in love, made wonderful friends, and everything seemed perfect. Forced to move to a new city, Nina had to cut ties with everyone she once knew. Eight years later, fate brings her face-to-face with him again. "Ethan..." He's the key to everything-the truths she never knew. When she was lost in the dark, he always held the light. But now, things are different. She despises him. He's colder than ever.
