The year is 1888. Secrets begin to unfurl when Frank Forester arrives to court Sarah Lawrence. His idea to stay turns into a need to get her out of town. At each turn, surprises arrive. The trip to the ranch does not go as expected and Jacob Forester also finds things going wrong. He's agreed to ride with the Rangers once again, and ends up meeting Taylor Daniels. She's young, vulnerable, and heading to see her Aunt Bess, who he knows is the owner of the saloon in Clear Creek. Jacob understands she doesn't know, so he offers her work at the ranch. The fact that he finds himself wanting to take care of her creates another problem. If his sister was home, instead of traveling to meet her new husband's family in Oklahoma, things wouldn't be such a mess. Nothing goes as one thinks it should, except for Gregor who seems to always anticipate trouble.

A down to earth cowboy with a past is thrown into the supernatural world, when he falls for a vampire who has demons of his own. Daryl's a bullfighter on the national circuit, stretching his pay check as far as it will go between himself and his brother's farm back in Texas. He also has the misfortune of being incredibly unlucky in love and stumbles into the wrong bar trying to forget a night he can only half remember. The bartender tells him to not go looking for trouble, but amongst the dark shadows and beautiful faces, it finds him in the form of Ryker. Ryker isn't known for being a nice guy. He's got a line that most people would believe is too malleable, but he is one of the good guys. Always shooting off his mouth at the wrong time or getting himself into fights he should avoid (but can handle) he sees the cowboy and goes in search of a fight. But neither man is prepared for the battle of wills and emotions that ensue from their broken attempts at understanding whatever it is that draws them together time and again. The more Daryl is drawn into Ryker's dark world, the more obvious it is that the Cowboy's half forgotten past may be more related to the shadow games and machinations of the very agency that has been trying to kill Ryker and the rest of the supernatural world for decades now. Mature themes. Violence, Swears. (Based in the universe of @Whiskeyjanedoe 's Breaking series. This is a little more than a love story) cover by @whiskeyjanedoe

Jessie White stands out from the crowd. As a Southern woman, she defies the typical expectations. While others her age are embarking on new careers, Jessie's upbringing on a ranch alongside four brothers equipped her with skills many would balk at. She's adept at horseback riding, calving, stall cleaning, and more. Fiercely independent, Jessie refuses to rely on any man, a resolve hardened after heartbreak at the hands of Max Lane, a rancher's son, two years prior. Jessie has resolved to take up bull riding, a skill that appears to be a family legacy. Her lifelong dream has been to ride a bull before an audience, but now, her ambition has shifted to rescuing the White Family Ranch after a substantial portion of their funds vanished and debts began accumulating. Max Lane's family is eager to buy the White Family Ranch, but Jessie refuses to let him take away the one thing that sustains her. Being a beauty bartender owner and a female bull rider makes things challenging. Everyone says she can't do it because she's a woman, but Jessie is determined to prove them all wrong. Initially skeptical, Trace Black doesn't recognize her potential until he witnesses her mount a bull for the first time. Although he may appear arrogant externally, that pales in comparison to his internal complexity. Trace and Jessie are initially oblivious to their chemistry, though it's evident to everyone around them. As Jessie gathers the courage to express her feelings to Trace, the things she dreads occur. However, it doesn't make matters worse; it alters everything profoundly. *WARNING* Book contains language, child loss, trauma, etc. Thank you for choosing my story! If you were to ask me what if was like to fall in love with a cowboy, I would say it's like a wildfire. Once it starts, there's no way of stoping it. It burns you alive from the inside out. Consumes you, every part of you. At least that's how it felt for me when I fell for a cowboy, one who wasn't even mine and could never be mine because he belonged to somebody else and I'm left with figuring out how to put out this fire that is loving Kayce Dutton. ***** Darkness and tragedy was all Wren Wheeler knew from the day she was brought into this world. The only good thing in her life was her older brother, Rip. The one who saved her from the brutal ending their mother and younger brother weren't so lucky to escape from. She didn't believe they would ever have a chance of surviving out in the world. Not until John Dutton gave them a second chance at life, just as long as they swore to never bring their past with them to his ranch. The ranch where she found herself a family, a sister she never had, and a love she swore she'd never allow herself to experience. Because that kind of love was never meant for a girl like her. Kayce Dutton was never meant for her, and he could never be. They could never exist. Will destiny prove her wrong?
