Jane Frost was the girl next door. Perfect grades, everyone’s best friend, and co class president. She was Ms. Perfect. Derek Ryder was a bad boy. Didn’t care about school, though his grades were always high, rode a motorcycle, and worked at the town’s only auto shop. He was Mr. Trouble. Despite their differences Jane and Derek have been best friends since, well, forever. Nothing could break them apart. Junior year of high school ends and Derek has to tell Jane something that could change their lives forever but Jane and her brother are sent away to stay with family in Ireland for the summer. When Jane and her brother come home she finds that Derek has a new girl in his life, Charlene Williams. Charlene and Jane have never gotten along and now that her best friend is dating her can Jane try to get along with her or will secrets of her own come forward and destroy hers and Derek’s friendship forever. And what about Derek, what about his own secrets he’s keeping hidden? The only thing that was for sure in their lives was that senior year was going to change it forever.
