"You. Traitors." said Natalie through gritted teeth. "How could you do this to me? I trusted you enough to be a part of the Royal Court and this is what you did? I am ashamed of the both of you."

I fiddled with the ends of my sleeves, my gaze on the floor, blood rushing to my cheeks. I was momentarily speechless. After all, it's not everyday you betray your best friend.


"Iris, it's not like you think it is..." began Zachary.

"Were the others with you?"


"Natalie, we aren't traitors. You got it all wrong." I said, the words literally tumbling out of my mouth.

"I don't care. Answer the question. Were there others with you?"
