"I relive it every day," I admit for the first time out loud before I can catch myself.

"Why is that?"

"I feel like if I keep living in that moment, one day I won't be afraid of him, or the night, or parking lots ever again," the words come out, jumbled and panicked, not quite meant to be heard by anyone's ears but my own.

Officer Park's thick stark eyebrows seem to frown with his full lips, "But wouldn't you be lying to yourself? Deep down, you would still be fearful. You would just be desentized."

"That'll be enough."
