Patria is infinite. Everlasting. The center of the universe. From this plane, all others were spawned. At one point, all creatures existed together until the Witch Queen cast her spell to forever separate the humans from the motherland and banish them to their own plane. It was a necessary evil, but it forced the Queen to also banish her halfling infant to the other plane as well.
The spell took nearly a century to take full effect. The humans reached their plane, memories and full histories fabricated, and began their separate civilization. While the existence of witches was known, the existence of the motherland was kept a secret, except for the few special children who members of Patria called upon.
