Al is just an average candor kid. He is 13 and anxiously awaiting the year he gets to take the aptitude test. He is so eager to take the test to get away from his father, and the pressure put on him to be the perfect candor son. He is expected to stay in candor to pursue his fathers dream. No matter what his father says or thinks, Al is going to be switching factions. He plans on switching to abnegation. Al had always loved the thought of helping people. He would feel right at home. Secretly Al would practice the faction virtues of the abnegation. He had everything planned for the day he gets to choose a new faction, a new family, and a new life. That is until he meets her. Her, being a beautiful abnegation girl, who is looking for the thrills of dauntless. Her name is Beatrice. Instantly Al and Beatrice become friends. From age thirteen to the choosing ceremony.
