Agent 3 never had a good life.  He only wished that he could be like the other Inklings.  His past was never the best either,  it was even worse when he got sanitized.  He was in sorrow and guilt, until some certain Inkling, and Octoling came into his life.

The fact that the team just recovered from the "Fuzzy goo invasion", and being promoted to captain, isn't really helping much with the captain's personal problems. But when Eight seems to go missing, and there are reports of an invasion where she lives, Captain Three starts getting worried. DISCLAIMER: I have not played the latest splatoon game yet, so NO SPOILERS PLZ. Everything here that relates to the game is pure speculation from the trailer.
