What would you do if you were sold off to the highest bidder? What kind of life do you imagine you would have?

In Kiliminara the only way you can afford to get food, is to have a larger amount of children that you can sell off to a wealthy royal family. Few of these children find love, and if they had any friends before they were bought they usually lose them soon after.

Menju wants nothing more than to be bought by his best friend, and first love, Gabe. The problem is though Gabe's family doesn't approve of those two being together, and they won't allow him to make an offer on him. Menju however is lucky that he is the oldest of the family, and no one seems to like him. Well that is until the king's son comes to Menju's house, and makes a large offer that Menju's family couldn't refuse.

Menju now is stuck in a loveless relationship, and all he can do is dream about ways of getting out of it.
