A mediocre human isn't exactly a likely protagonist, or so he thinks until something decidedly not average happens to him - an alpha werewolf way out of his league rejects him on the cracked sidewalk of New York City. This rejection is one-of-a-kind; werewolves can't really reject their mates, at least according to the internet. Even more puzzling is the fact that out of all the interesting, not mediocre people in the world, he was chosen for a werewolf mate in the first place. Is life just a cruel joke?
