A mediocre human isn't exactly a likely protagonist, or so he thinks until something decidedly not average happens to him - an alpha werewolf way out of his league rejects him on the cracked sidewalk of New York City. This rejection is one-of-a-kind; werewolves can't really reject their mates, at least according to the internet.
