This collection features my college writing from over the years, showing how I have grown as a writer. Some essays are older or less polished, while others are more refined, but all reflect my thoughts and experiences at different stages. I wanted to share these with anyone who enjoys reading essays or is curious about my writing process. Please feel free to leave comments and critiques because I am always looking for ways to improve. I truly see this as a glimpse into my development as a writer, and I hope you find something interesting or relatable in these pieces.

Redemption Reserved for Superheros
(edit) I forgot to add that this started out as a confessional journal about becoming clean after a 10 year + addiction to OTC cold meds, but that was not my style of writing, I liked the material so I wanted to expand it into a novel length work featuring the journal elements. To say this work is a roller coaster would put it lightly. Although there are elements of time travel I would consider my sudden transitions reality travel. I use actual experience and dreams as a foundation, then toss in some fourth wall breaking narratives (meta-fiction), with a sprinkling of facts and quotations from songs and factual articles. It tends to be written similarly to an essay sans the boring. I have been influenced strongly by Vonnegut and W. S. Burroughs , and a wide variety of album rock, and that bleeds through. The tags dystopian and dark humor describe the whole piece best but there is a lot of genre jumping. I've done a good deal of research, not just for factual things but for the type of writing I do. Although not technically fan fiction, there is a nod to Final Fantasy games. The cover photo is a shared copyright, Brian Barbour took the photo, I added treatments.Completa

As an aspiring author and journalist, I have been taking literary courses to expand my horizon as a writer. Whether that be illustrating from different perspectives, recording naturalistic observations, or analyzing TV shows... I have been growing in various areas, making me the novelist I am today. The following publication you are about to read contains snippets of my journey (writing assignments, journals, poems, short stories, etc.) and the boundaries I had to cross to become a better storyteller.
