A long time ago, in a galaxy far far away...
This story is pretty much based 1000% on the films with the inclusion of my OC (original character) named Lieutenant Lyanna Hewitt. It spans from EPISODE VII: The Force Awakens to EPISODE IX: The Rise of Skywalker. Follows the same storyline and same characters but it will be mainly written from the perspective of Lyanna. Enjoy! Immediately following the events of The Last Jedi, the battle for the galaxy continues between the First Order and the last of the Resistance. As the new Supreme Leader takes the throne, the First Order is focused on finding and destroying all who oppose them. The Resistance had disappeared into hiding and desperation has forced them to explore the gray areas of war. Meanwhile, on opposite sides of the war, Rey and Kylo Ren are forced to face the realities of their bond, their complicated relationship, their loyalty to their causes, and their understanding of the Force. Could their star-crossed connection be tied to the fate of the galaxy? This is a slow burn! Enemies to friends to lovers. This story continues the arcs and themes beautifully woven through The Last Jedi, as well as the narrative from the previous two trilogies. All plot elements are intended to be canon-compliant through TLJ. This is 100% complete. It was completed in December 2019 on A03 before The Rise of Skywalker was released, so this is not a "fix-it" fic as much as an alternative to Episode IX. This is a dark story. After the big fight against Palpatine and the Final Order, there isn't any time to take a break. People need help all over the galaxy and a New System must be reestablished. While Rey desperately tries to talk to Ben's Force Ghost, she doesn't have time to concentrate on it either. Her future as a Jedi Master lies ahead. Rey finds Jedis, lightsabers, friends and enemies; discovers truths, stories and secrets. All these distractions in one aim: forget her grief and ancestor. Poe creates plans to prove that he can be the next General. Finn wants to protect Rey from her Dark Side and repeatedly tries to make her understand his secret. In the Council, he defends the fate of the stormtroopers though many in the Resistance seek the destruction of the rebuilding Empire more. Is there any way to bring Ben Solo back? Something Rey nor Ben dare to think. Nevertheless it's obvious that it is what both of them want the most in the darkest place of their hearts. I went to the cinema during the Christmas holidays, to see 'The Last Jedi', and I just fell in love with the bond between Rey and Kylo Ren. So I've started writing about it, and I thought "I'm gonna share it on wattpad!" So here I am, writing a fanfiction. The story starts when Rey is still trained by Luke Skywalker. The first four chapters are kind of like a 'prologue', to tell you the situation, and make you familiar with the characters. I've followed the story as it was in the film, and from the fifth chapter onwards, it's all invented. Enjoy reading it! And of course don't forget to like and comment (it means a lot!). But if you don't like the story, just don't read it, and don't comment. Any nasty comments will be deleted. I also don't mind having a few tips, on the contrary, they are very welcome! Based on Star Wars ep. VII: The Force Awakens. "You... you're afraid." I say looking back at him defyingly. "That you'll never be as strong as Darth Vader." I say his hand moving away from me instantly and he takes a step back finally my body gets released from his hold. I notice the expression from his face breaking completely, he is confused even rattled. I breathe heavily and keep staring back at him proud of myself as he picks up his mask and exits the room leaving me tied up to the interrogation chair. How was I able to do all of that? ------ This book is part 1 of my rewrite series. I figured that if If I wanted to rewrite TLJ and TROS the only correct way would be by also doing TFA so here is that. Also, this book is going to be very similar to the movie to a point where it is almost identical but since it's written with different points of views we get to know more about the characters and where they come from. It is very canon compliant especially when talking about the different character backstories. That being said, this doesn't mean that the next two books are going to be the exact same as the movies I want to take the other books in a completely different way. Rey never thought of becoming someone in her life, either than a simple scavenger. But when she decides to accept the company of a BB unit, her life takes a very interesting turn as she gets caught up in the battle of the Resistance with the powerful, dark First Order. She then discoveres that her future isn't what she thought it would be, as the galaxy's fate is depending on her decisions and her power. The chapters get better as the story progresses.
