What if there was another world not-so exactly like this one? One where world peace is a fact and global warming isn't a problem and there isn't such a thing as human trafficking and slavery has been completely wiped out? And what if that world was ruled by demons?

Laurie Nicolas is just another human girl in a world full of human girls. Her dad is a fisherman, while her mother trains as a nurse. For her, life pretty much sucks since she isn't a Necromancer; the humanoid but devilish Elites that rule San Noir who have an uncanny resemblance to the mythical vampire. They feed on human blood, and everyone has the scars to prove that the Elite feed on humans. Literally. But so what? It doesn't matter to Laurie that she bleeds every time she goes to the market; the only thing she cares about is that life stays as it always has been; with her horses healthy and her little sister happy. And so far, things are going pretty good. Until she just happens to bump into one of the revered Generals, Ashton Black. He's the living reminder of how superior the Necromancers are to the humans; their superhuman strength, speed, and agility are unmatched and Ashton has taken his to the next level. Laurie hates him. Up until the day that a twist of fate forces him to turn Laurie into one of his own.
