✩ She was desperate Sweat was drenching her armor and the stench of perspiration and the blood she was clad in wasn't the sweetest of smell. Yet the only thought in the back of her head was the fact that she was going to die today. Her life will drenched away into the soils of the earth by her queen's hands. This made Christine slap the horse furiously in efforts to make it go faster. The more distance she could put between them the longer she would be alive. "She's going to kill me" Christine mumbled in a hush as the breeze spasmed through her ginger curls. She could feel the adrenaline pumping through her veins as she slapped the horse once again to go faster. Where she was heading, Christine had no thought off. All she knew was her life was pending and the time was running out. Behind, unmoving from her spot Persefoni stood with her warriors. Grabbing Daeril's stack of bows and arrows she slung the carrier over her shoulders. "My queen, how long with this adventure take?" Eddie whispered hoarsely as he eyed Persefoni's blood lust face. She was stealthy with her movement seeming as if she had sunk herself into rage. "An hour" Persefoni vented head clouded with greed. She wanted Christine to suffer. "Should we follow?" Daeril stated eyeing the direction Christine had gone. Persefoni scuffed "Don't insult me" Tightening her sword around her waist she slung the carrier tighter "If I come back with her in my arms alive" Persefoni paused knowing the chance being null and void "Don't question it" With a soft yet effective kick to the horse stomach, the beast sped off in regards to capture. Persefoni slung her helmet protectively over her head as she adorned herself fully in stainless metal. A slow hum left her lips hauntingly as the vast greenery slipped past her vision as only one target was in her mind. "Christine" Persefoni mumbled "My sweet Christine"

Assi Lara Ikihohto, a Finnish-Turkish woman, lives for anime, webtoons, and Korean dramas-until war shatters her peaceful, pop-culture-filled bubble. As family and friends are lost, she discovers new alliances and learns to fight for her country-partially fueled by a strange mix of psychopathy and laziness that she's learned to call "strategic." Bureaucracy makes her want to scream. Physical activity makes her groan. Most men...you'd expect moans, but what they really get are eye-rolls, except for one who's surprisingly useful. Explosives? Somehow, they're hilariously, ridiculously, dangerously fun. ~~~~ Branches whipped past as they sprinted through the forest. "Drop the fucking backpack!" she snapped. The man tightened his grip on the straps. "No way. I carried this thing for hundreds of kilometers. And now you want me to just leave it?" He barked. "Yes," she shot back. "What the hell-" The other two men yelled almost in unison: "Drop it!" But he shook his head, stubborn. "No chance." Without waiting, the others ripped the backpack from him and threw it aside. He lunged for it, furious. "I'm not leaving that there!" The woman cut him off, grabbing his arm. "Trust me. It's the best choice right now." They bolted through the undergrowth, lungs burning. Behind them, their pursuers came to a halt, eyes fixing on the abandoned pack lying in the mud. She smirked. "Now, stay right th-" Click. The blast ripped through the forest, the shockwave flinging them into the dirt. Leaves and fire rained down. The man lifted his head, face pale with fury. "You made me carry explosives for hundreds of kilometres! Do you realise if that went off early, I'd be dead?" She rolled onto her back, chest heaving, eyes glittering with amusement. "But it didn't."
