After being diagnosed with lung cancer, Morgan finds herself unable to accept the heavy treatments and decides to stay home in her last days. In her weakened state, she admits to her parents the painful truth that she had been keeping a secret - her husband Xavier had cheated on her before her diagnosis. Later, she also reveals that her first child, Miles, is not Xavier's but that of her college lover, which she kept hidden even after Xavier proved his dedication and true love through caring for her throughout her illness. After she passed away, her parents discovered that Xavier had been keeping his own secret - he received a large sum of money following a demolition in his hometown; yet, he deceived everyone into believing he was borrowing heavily for Morgan's treatments. Shortly after Morgan's death, Xavier remarried the woman with whom he had an affair, Sarah. Feeling deceived and infuriated, Morgan's parents confront Xavier and reclaim their share of their daughter's inheritance, ensuring a secure future for their grandson.
