Bakugou is angry at the world, at his parents, at his life. His mom drank too much and would beat him until he passed out, while his dad was to scared to do anything to help. In junior high his mom left and it was just him and his dad, he swore to himself that he'd never be gentle again after what she did. Bakugou worked his ass off in school to get into UA high.

Kirishima was always happy, but his mom was struggling to pay the bills so he worked a part time job to help her out. His mom met his stepfather and got married, they live better but his stepfather disrespects him, making him do all the house work and letting his stepbrothers run around and do anything they want. Kirishima didnt mind helping out but he was tired of his stepfather. Kirishima started high school and had to moved out into the UA high dorms.

They met in their first year and gradually become friends, then became very close during their time at UA. When the 3rd year started, bakugou had spent the whole summer thinking about his best friend, Kirishima, in a "more then friends" way. He of course buried his feelings, but knew spending a whole new year with Kirishima his feelings grow for him. Kirishima had feelings for bokugou but he didn't want to ruin his friendship with him, so he did his best to ignore them, he did for awhile but, he really just wants to be with him. They both play it cool until bakugou comes to Kirishima crying, and beat up.
