Imagine being born, and an Evaluator tearing you from you mother's arms, running dozens of genetic tests, all done to determine your desirability.

The tests are based on brain capacity, body mold, facial structure, and family history. The higher your desirability, the more likely you are to be one of the few Favored.

The Favored are a group of elites ranging in age anywhere from 14 to 32. These few are given their Marks of the Privileged the moment they are brought to the Gathering Facility, a plantation in South Dakota, where it is always warm and sunny, and only rains at desired times.

The Favored are chosen to look good in front of the rest of the world. They follow every rule, every order their Evaluators give them, setting the perfect, carbon-copy example for the Unfavored.

But seven teenagers are tired of listening to the demands. And hell hath no fury like an adolescent scorned.
