There are Daemons, and there are the people who hunt them - The Night's Children.
They're just like everyone else, except they're powerful and trained to kill. The Academy is one of the only places the Night's Children can live without being disturbed. Dove Fioralba lives there with her two older brothers, Zak and Clayton, and her girlfriend Venus. Her grandfather runs the Academy, and they all answer to him.
On a hunt, they're ambushed by Lesser Daemons, Zombies. But they don't attack. Instead, they offer a deal. One of the Night's Children killed a Zombie, and now they want justice. After all, it's only fair.
Their decision could easily tear apart the Academy. And their decision will change the fate of the Academy, as well as their own.
