At her elite university in New York City, sophomore Lilly Monroe is quite a popular music student. She has a beautiful voice, incredible stage presence, and she's not a half bad pianist either. All her classmates see her as the star of her class. That is until she meets her match in transfer student, Freddie Bulsara. Freddie has everything Lilly has: the beautiful voice, the stage presence, the piano skills, and it doesn't hurt that he's cute. Jealousy rears its ugly head as Freddie starts to become more popular than Lilly. They become rivals and start competing for fame through the school and the city, eventually forming their own bands to help them compete. Through their rivalry, drama ensues, friendships and relationships form, then crash and burn, and everyone discovers themselves through it all.
