Smoke. Fire. That was all that I saw. I coughed repetitively, feeling my way around my house. "Stevie!" someone yelled. I collapsed. I felt someone grab my shirt, but everything faded black after that.
When I woke up I was being carried. Though I still wasn't safe. Screams were released into the night sky. The quiet night sky that was above our home. Now our home was burning. And I thought I would never see beautiful daylight again.
