Virgil, a sophomore in High School, has a pretty unstable lifestyle. His mother is an abusive alcoholic and his father committed suicide when he was 5. His younger sister Winter is his everything, and his wishes he could give her a better childhood than she has. He also struggles with a very severe eating disorder. 
Roman, a sophomore is High school, is a very quiet kid. But he has a reason. Roman has been deaf for about 4 years. He was kidnapped and raped for the majority of his childhood. The abuse he was put through caused him to lose his hearing. He was found by police 2 years later, and the last 4 years has been tough. Learning how to live in society again, deal with PTSD, while simultaneously learning how to live without his hearing.All Rights Reserved

Logan and Patton are the parents of the adopted 3 year old twins Remus and Roman. Dean (Deceit) is a single father of adopted 3 year old Virgil, who just moved in to the house across the street. Virgil, though only 3, deals with extreme anxiety, he's a slow learner so he doesn't talk very much and rarely, if not ever, leaves Dean's side and has developed trust issues and PTSD due to the incident that caused them to move in the first place. Unfortunately due to the new circumstances, Dean now has to work so that they can afford to live and is unable to afford for Virgil to go to daycare. Since Patton is a stay at home dad and was very friendly the first time meeting, Dean puts Virgil in his care also hoping that it will help Virgil with his social skills and being around other kids his age.
