Every mission felt like another chance he wouldn't come back. But while I worried about him, something began happening to me: the voices, the visions, the emotions I didn't understand, especially when it came to that blue-masked turtle. This angst/hurt/comfort story takes place five months after Splinter's death, following the events of Season 4 of TMNT (2012). Mikey runs away to April's farmhouse after being coldly berated by his brothers during a messed-up patrol. When his brothers go to find him, Mikey is struck by a giant, mutated snake while trying to protect some mutated gophers. This incident leads to another argument, during which Mikey finally lashes out at his brothers, venting years of pent-up anger and sadness. However, he soon becomes gravely ill due to the snake's potent venom, much to his brothers' horror. In a race against time, the brothers seek help from the mutated gophers, desperately trying to find a cure for the poison within five hours, or else Mikey will die. Through this challenging ordeal, the brothers come to understand the true value and power Mikey holds within the family, realizing just how close they came to breaking apart. They vow to do anything to make things right. Can they save their baby brother from an agonising death before it's too late? Will they be able to rekindle their brotherhood, or is this the end of the Hamato Clan?

He was always messing up, so it wouldn't be any different than usual. He knew he was a headache. Maybe it would be better if he were- . It's been years since the almost apocalypse happened, all their wounds were healed and tough talks were had. So why is Leo feeling like this? What is wrong with him? Everything is fine! Why can't he just enjoy this happy ending like he's supposed to!? Utterly sick of his broken brain, Leo goes on a quest to figure out what the hell is going on with him and to fix it once and for all.

Something rises in the leader, similar to the gut instinct he gains when his team is about to walk into a trap, or there's a danger lurking just out of sight. He knows that it would be easy to leave, to obey his stressed younger brother and allow him to continue his work. In a way, this had been what he'd wanted, hadn't it? But this is wrong. Donnie had left during their argument a few evening before. Left on a horrible note of blame and anger and stress that hadn't faded. His little brother may not have realized it yet, but they needed to remedy this or it was only going to get worse. Leo started this, and now he's going to finish it.
