If multiple characters have the same name, then the one who appeared second is likely the son of the former (e.g. after Thomas Courtenay, 5th Earl of Devon, died in 1458, his son, also called Thomas, became 6th Earl of Devon). Characters with titles will be referred to by their title (e.g. 'Henry Holland, Duke of Exeter' will be referred to as 'Exeter'.
