In a world not our own, Nel-Radin, history is also a heavy word, meaning that much happened, much is happening and yet more will happen. This story begins in the year 3'404 according to the Kastosian Calendar, in the small village of Gimvault, with a boy named Mayen who has no idea of what is happening beyond the stage of what he can see and understand. May it be politics with its wars, a strange and ominous creature with its deeply shrouded intents, or a prophecy speaking beyond the immediate promises it gives, a hard lesson is to be learned by Mayen. Faith and hope are the sturdiest walls and roof in the tempest of a life gone out of one's control.

**TAKE NOTE**
Characters in this book are meant to be in part the product of the culture they live in, meaning they won't hold to today's ideals or defend all the same causes we do. It is also meant to allow in future books some stories on social reforms.

Book 1 of Rewritten: The Inamorate Saga. The great reveal had been beneficial for some. Elves, particularly, with their beauty and grace and quiet manipulation of the world around them. They thrived in the light, able to infiltrate human structure with ease, carving out a place for their kind at the most crucial of times. Their leaders set down territory lines, segregating cities and even states for themselves, for the growth of their people. They flourished, building their empire on the backs of those withered beneath. Fae, however, didn't find such a foothold. They remained in the darkness, hidden away in the tangles of forest untouched by humans, trapped within their clans. The dark ages reigned through those woodlands, void of modern technology and any shade of defiance. Monarchs ruled, surrounded by warriors, enforcing their law upon the common people. Outside, there was talk of abuse, of forced subjugation, whispers from those fae that had made it, that had escaped. Salem had chosen to remain silent. Five years had passed, not a soul knew of the clan he had fled. He had a family, three brothers who had taken him in, who had chosen to house him rather than barter money for the purity he still held. There was a normality to the world, to the life that Salem had forged. There was no reason for change, nothing to draw him back into that inky abyss he had clawed out of. Nothing but a tree flowering ivory petals housed in the estate of one of the most influential elves in their city...

The places, events and time period of these events are also not in line with actual history and some places mentioned do not exist. This story is not intended to address Soviet Russia or any political concerns related to the region. It's very superficial in its relation to the culture and language. I wanted to have as much creative liberty as possible and create my OWN take on historical events through the realm of fantasy. Also, I am not from Russia, and my knowledge on their culture and language is superficial at best so you should really go to a more reputable source if you want to learn more about the interesting history of the people.
