Sequel to "His Harbinger." Everything makes much more sense if you read that one first.
Originally titled "I Don't Care What Comes Next, You Won't Face It Alone..." but that was just a little too long.
Vilkas x Dragonborn (established)
Farkas x Lydia (also established)
Based on my play through of the Dawnguard DLC and a few other side quest interruptions, with my Dragonborn Krinna Dovh, a female Nord.
Krinna has visions and premonitions so there are something's she just knows (expanding further on a headcannon established in the first book).
Mostly told from Vilkas's perspective, with occasional snippets from the Dragonborn's perspective.
Also explores aspects of married life; Vilkas being hot-tempered, but sweet and loyal.
Story is set after the Companions quest line, the civil war, and the main story line is complete (events of "His Harbinger")
Also not entirely cannon compliant, (mostly because you can't actually bring multiple followers with you in the un-modded game).
And of course this is a fanfiction, the only thing unique to me is my specific characterization of the Dragonborn, everything else belongs to Bethesda, including portions of the dialogue.
And lastly, no smut, but (they're married) there will be some strongly suggestive situations, so I marked it mature.
Deirdre Morningsong returns to Skyrim seeking vengeance on the Nords who murdered her parents, only to be captured by Imperial soldiers who mistake her for a Stormcloak rebel. After escaping both the Imperial dungeons and the destructive return of the dragon Alduin, she resolves to discover what strange power is within her, and what the dragons have to do with it.
Follows the main quest lines of the game, weaving them into a story of adventure and romance, with numerous twists on the canon. I'm hoping it's equally enjoyable for those who've played the game and those who haven't.
Trigger warnings: rape is mentioned, one is attempted and prevented, but none are completed. Some other sexual assault.
The first chapters are PG-13, but later ones become R-rated. (Feedback on appropriate ratings appreciated.)

I've only posted Part I here, but will soon post the rest (four parts total, 62 chapters).
I've worked in nonfiction up to now because it's easier for me to describe places and events I can experience first-hand. I'm hoping that writing this fanfic will be a bridge to doing more of my own fiction.
