Why do I keep loving you?

Why is it that I wake up everyday assuming that somehow there's still a chance you'll love me again? I hate how hopeful I get. It sucks when you had the chance to love them but then it's all over just like that.

He was my exact opposite but hey opposites attract right? You know how some people believe in soul mates? Well in my world everyone knows they are real. When you turn 18 you can hear your soul mate a.k.a tap into their thoughts. And even if you've known your soul mate your entire life you won't know until the first time you see them either on or after your 18th birthday and it is like love at first sight. But you will be attracted to them because they are meant for you so of course you will find them attractive. But imagine my surprise when the person made for me was my polar opposite.Complete

It's hard to fall for someone you're not sure will catch you. Why is that? Why do we get our hopes up sometimes, thinking that the people we love can catch us, when we ourselves can't even catch ourselves when we fall because of the pain they give us? We're the ones who keep catching them when they get hurt, it's unfair because they can't even catch us when we're falling head over heels for them... But my perspective changed when I found out that she'd been catching me all along, I just didn't know.
