Kirishima remembers when he didn't need to depend on others. He thought it was unmanly and 'totally not cool'. But, after an incident with a certain spell-casting individual when he was younger, he's had the goal to one day become someone's 'familiar'. He realized that he wants to be dependent and that sometimes, it can be manly to have someone to be there to support you... And then he forgot the reason why he's so determined to become a familiar. But when he finds out his new roommate for Tsuki Academy, the memories all start flooding back.

When first hearing that he's going to an academy for all races, he does not like it one bit. He's going to be with Midoriya, one of the few beings that is just a plain old human loser, and he's gonna be surrounded by dozens of other witches and races that think they have a shot at being better than him. Although he hates both of those facts, there's just one thing that he can't get out of his head, and hasn't been forgotten for 11 years; how is that cat nowadays?
