My heart cracked, bit by bit. His blood stained hand held the knife above me; ready to stab my chest to the core. I stared at him in fear and disbelief, this wasn't him! He wouldn't hurt me. The knife suddenly came rushing down to make contact and I closed my eyes. If he wanted to do this then he wasn't himself. No contact came. I opened my eyes and he was just staring at me in fear and confusion.
"I can't, I can't do it." He sobbed. "Help me..."
He continued to weep and I stared at him for a while. Then I cupped my hand on his cheek.
