"For Gods sake Bucky, I love you but I won't let Kitty get hurt simply because I didn't take her away for a while." I argue.

His eyes snap up when I say those special three words. I never thought I would say them. A single tear falls from his eye and trickles down his cheek. I'm about to reach up and wipe it away, like I always do, when he shakes his head at me.

A story in which America's favorite Captain gives a new life and family to a five-year-old girl who has suffered well beyond her years... During an intense Hydra-disassembly mission, the Avengers are able to successfully detain countless Hydra personnel, as well as several of the evil agency's test subjects. But in the midst of the harrowing scene, America's favorite Captain is asked to investigate the final holding cell in the experimentation lab. There, he finds a small child huddled fearfully in a corner with a blindfold over her eyes, a complete contrast to the other prisoners who were all super-built, raging with anger, and ready to fight. Over his earpiece, the other Avengers are able to offer Captain scrambled bits of information they've all gathered about this mysterious creature, referred to as simply "Girl." But when she's brought back to the Avenger's Headquarter's to be further investigated, he finds out that there's much more to this little girl's story than anyone had initially imagined. With the seemingly complete elimination of Hydra, the heroic group are offered more freedom and time to make real lives for themselves. But Steve Rogers has formed a soft spot for a certain fellow ex-test subject. Along with the help of his friends, will he be able to help Girl heal and find hope for her future? And what will happen when Girl's dark past attempts to catch back up with her? Or follow her heart and pick who it really wants? Find out on "You owe me a date" ~ "Friends don't look at each other like that!" She yelled at me. "You don't think I know that?" I scream back. ~ "Look I get it he WAS your husband. But that's your past I'm here now. I'm you're future." "You don't get it! Don't tell me you wouldn't do the same in my position." I yell at him. "WELL I CANT. I DONT HAVE TOO. I HAVE YOU!" "God you don't get it." "THEN EXPLAIN IT TO ME!" ~ "Lette you ready to go?" Nat asks me handing me a purse. "As I'll ever be." I sighed. I look myself over in the mirror and take a deep breath. "The chances of seeing him are slim." She puts a comforting hand on my shoulder. "Yeah," I try and keep the tears in, "Let's get this over with." I pull my shoulder out of her grasp and walk out of the room. ~ "Welcome to where I was trained." Steve says taking in the scenery around him. "Captain America or Steve Rogers?" I smile at him. "Steve Rogers." "Hold on!" He asks vehemently. "What do you want?" I ask, irritated. His blue eyes widen and still manage to shine in the dim moonlight, his dark, golden hair looking like a halo on his head. America's golden boy he is. He hesitates at my question, as if he doesn't even know himself. "Why don't you come back with me? I can get you some food, a warm bed, some clean clothes?" He offers kindly. I look at him skeptically. "Back where? Your ivory tower?" I sass. He presses his lips together before jumping to the other dumpster. "Look, I just want to help. It doesn't matter what the press says. They get a lot wrong anyway." He shoots a smile down at me to try and win me over. "Well, that's wonderfully patriotic of you," I hop down and start walking down the alley away from him. "but no thanks." I slip my thumbs under the straps of my backpack and clutch on. Steve Rogers appears next to me in seconds, walking with me. I create distance between us, making sure we don't touch. Before he opens his mouth, I stop us both, my temper flaring up. "Look, I have no interest in being your charity case. I don't want to be in the press, used as an example of how good the Avengers are, or any of that shit. I just want to be left alone!" I huff, pulling my backpack tighter against my back to resist punching Captain America. Steve's eyes go to my still bloody knuckles in the dim light and his eyebrows furrow even further. "Oh, dear god." I complain at seeing more concern on his face. Before he can put a gentle hand on my shoulder and give me a rousing speech about justice or something I kick him hard in the balls. As soon as he leans over I start sprinting. I reach another dumpster and jump on top of it, then leap to the nearest fire escape. Then, I'm on the roof and feel like I'm flying. Some people've gotta learn the hard way; not everyone wants to be saved. SEQUEL 'Into the Ring' IS UP NOW! *I DO NOT OWN THE AVENGERS. ONLY THE CHARACTERS AND SITUATIONS I CREATE.*
