Connelly Nixon is used to being alone. She feels lonely at home with a workaholic mom who barely acknowledges her. She is a nobody at school unless students bully her and pretend she is invisible. This has made Connelly less confident about herself, like she deserves to be invisible. But things change during Connelly's junior year. When her mother gets into an accident, Connelly is forced to live with her aunt and uncle. Connie feels out of place in their perfect home and family. Her cousin Camden is an aspiring fashion designer and most popular girl at her new school. No one notices Connelly at her new school at first either. But things change when Camden suddenly makes Connelly a part of her social circle. Camden helps Connelly work on her confidence and social skills by changing her wardrobe and hanging around other kids. Connelly no longer feels alone, but are things too good to be true?

Amelia Johnson has always kept her life under control - until the day she loses her father. Suddenly, she's left juggling responsibilities, emotions, and a quiet ache she can't seem to fix. The last person she expects to notice is Kyle Marshall - her longtime rival, the guy who's always had a smug grin and a snarky comment ready just for her. But now, Kyle's different. He shows up when she needs help. He doesn't push, doesn't ask for anything in return - and it leaves Amelia more confused than comforted. Kyle doesn't understand it either. He just knows that for the first time, he wants to be there for her, even if he can't explain why. Neither of them is ready for the way things start to shift - for the quiet moments, the unexpected trust, the feeling that maybe the person you thought you hated was exactly who you needed all along. Sometimes, the heart knows a sure thing long before you do.
