Cassidy is a major book worm. Her whole life, she's been buried in books and her fantasies. During her free time, she'll be reading. She dreams about the books that she reads, wishing she could have a journey worth telling of her life. She sits all day and wishes and hopes, but knows her life won't ever change on the ranch. She wishes for super powers, secret societies, extraordinary love, rebellions, but her simple life doesn't seem to allow that. That is until she moves to the city. New York City, that is. She starts her junior year at St. Vincent Ferrer High with no friends and no experience. The most popular boy at New York High has been eyeing her since the school year started. Jake is your typical all American white boy that hates books and just wants to have fun, all the time. Once Jake takes an interest in Cassidy, it is something he cannot stop, and doesn't want to. He's the one to finally get her head out of her books and start their own adventure worth telling.

Meet Violet Summers. She's the sarcastic girl who doesn't really ever get noticed by anyone. She blends into any crowd because of how "normal" she is. And she loves it. She wouldn't be able to stand the attention of everyone around her. That's why she won't tell Ryan Bloore, her crush for three years, that she practically worships the ground he walks on. Ryan is the captain of the basketball team at their school, so guys see him like he's a god and girls act like he walks on water. If they were to date, all eyes would be on her- she would be under everyone's scrutiny. So she's kept her feelings a secret, and she's done her best to suppress her emotions these past years, but she's realized that she's been so caught up in making people not notice her that she didn't realize how lonely she would be when no one was watching. Now meet Ryder Knight. School bad boy. Quarterback captain and heartthrob. The kind that wears a leather jacket and has tattoos all over his arms. The one who shows up to school riding a motorcycle. Just your average run of the mill "if you get involved with this guy, you will meet some serious trouble" kind of male. Well, too bad for Violet, she's stuck with him now. After all of the years of pushing away her feelings for Ryan because of her fear of being seen, she is now all anyone can look at- because of Ryder. Because of him, she can feel their stares, and she hates him for it. The longer they spend time together, the more Ryder starts to realize he actually enjoys being around her-despite her snarky comments about how much she despises him. And if Violet is being completely honest with herself, she's also starting to realize she might not actually hate the fact that people are noticing her now, but hate the way Ryder makes her feel.
