Cassidy is a major book worm. Her whole life, she's been buried in books and her fantasies. During her free time, she'll be reading. She dreams about the books that she reads, wishing she could have a journey worth telling of her life. She sits all day and wishes and hopes, but knows her life won't ever change on the ranch. She wishes for super powers, secret societies, extraordinary love, rebellions, but her simple life doesn't seem to allow that.
That is until she moves to the city. New York City, that is. She starts her junior year at St. Vincent Ferrer High with no friends and no experience. The most popular boy at New York High has been eyeing her since the school year started.
Jake is your typical all American white boy that hates books and just wants to have fun, all the time. Once Jake takes an interest in Cassidy, it is something he cannot stop, and doesn't want to. He's the one to finally get her head out of her books and start their own adventure worth telling.

Anyone that chooses not to follow the rules can drop out and become what's known as an Outcast, but then you risk being imprisoned. While America seems to be running perfectly under these laws, a rebellion is stirring among the professionals. With secrets and lies in government and families alike to change the future of America forever, Cassidy finds herself caught up in the middle of the all out war that is about to break out. What she thought she knew about her world is about to change forever, bringing everyone she knows down with her. DISCLAIMER 2016/2017: This book is a few years old at this point, and due to the political uproar in American in 2016 I feel the need to make this abundantly clear. Outcasts takes place in a dystopian world in an undetermined year in the future, and the political parties depicted in this story - the Republicans and the Democrats - are in no way, shape or form a commentary on their real-life counterparts. I had very little knowledge of American politics when I wrote this story, and if I could go back and change their names I would. James watches Emma embarrass herself on multiple different occasions, And still wont explain why he is upset with her. But, after Sammi gets a football player to put a cockroach in Emma's hair in class, Emma runs out to leave. She then runs into James, who Offers to give her a ride home.
