The world is normal as i should be-  with the exception of ley lines, the veins of to world that hold magic. Magic is a normalcy in every-day life, as it's used commonplace.
When non- magical college student Cato is invited on a trip to the Pacific Islands with his enchanted friend, Hekili, they discover there's more that meets the eye- in both good and bad ways.
With guidance from a girl wise  beyond her years, a child with a malicious magic, a demigod, a cursed boy, and his best friend, Cato discovers that there's perhaps more to himself, too...
