sağlanırdı kırışık kâğıtlar üzerinde. Mürekkebim kâh kan olur bir mazlumun vücudunu boyar,
kâh bir yağmur damlası olur, umutlar yeşertirdi. Masamın üzeri cinayet dosyalarıyla dolup
taşardı. Hayatlar birkaç küçük ayrıntıdan ibaretti notlarım arasında.
Olay yeri incelemeyle cesedi incelerdim, kötü adamlarla şarap yudumlardım boğaza
karşı. İnsanlar benim yüzümden ölür, cinayetler benim sayemde çözülürdü. Âşıklar
gözlerimin önünde telef olur, gidenler geride bıraktıkları maktullerin gözlerine bile
bakmazlardı. Şehrin karanlık sokaklarında tüm suçlara tanıklık ederdim.
Ama bu sefer yazdığım karanlık sokakların tam ortasındayım! Kendi kurduğum
labirentteyim, çıkış yok. Emrimdeki tüm polisler peşimde artık. Herkes toplanmış, işlettiğim
cinayetlerin hesabını soruyor benden.
