**All art work belong to their respective creators. I do not own anything but the writing.** **Disclaimers will be in the begining of each chapter if necessary** The story would not be what it is now if it hadn't been for an amazing partner who joined me in making an RP. If you read this some day, thank you so much. For years humans and dragons were at war. Humans had found the giant, winged creatures, "too dangerous." Surely there would be no way the two species could live amongst each other, not when one of the two wanted to rule over all the land in greed. The dragons were hunted down and killed, soon, the hatred grew to the point where one of them would become extinct. The other, champion. In order to stop this war, there would be only one human and one dragon to bring the two species together, to show the world of humans and Dragons that they can live together in harmony.

Torin has always felt out of place in his small village. Despite the familiarity of his surroundings, he cannot shake the feeling that he doesn't belong. He longs for a place where he can truly be himself, away from the expectations of his people, a life free of the stifling weight of conformity. His dreams are filled with a sense of belonging, a vision of a life where he is accepted for who he is, not for who others expect him to be. One fateful day, while attending the annual Dragon Safe Arena, where dragons are brought to be killed for sport and fear, something extraordinary happens. A black dragon, larger and more majestic than any Torin has ever seen, enters the arena. The crowd erupts in excitement, but Torin feels an unexpected connection. The dragon's eyes lock onto his, and in that moment, he hears a voice-not in his ears, but in his mind. The dragon speaks to him, its words clear, yet impossible: "I see you, young one. You do not belong here." In a shock of realization, Torin understands the dragon's plea. No one else can hear it, no one else can understand the words-but Torin can. At that moment, everything changes. He chooses to defy the world he's always known, running away with the dragon, escaping the village that never understood him. As they journey together, seeking refuge in the wilds, they encounter other teens-four others-each of whom carries their own special gift. They, too, are misfits. One has the power to control the wind, another can manipulate shadows, a third can speak to animals, and the last can heal with a touch. The group of them, united by their unique abilities, form an unlikely family.
