DUKE

Duke Daghert, an undercover law enforcement agent, and Vivien Caboot, the tough granddaughter of a crime patriarch, fall in love even as they both struggle to act out their respective, unsuitable rôles.

Duke is part-time musician, part-time professor, part-time private tutor and part-time undercover agent for law enforcement. When the aging and ailing patriarch of the Caboot crime family advertises for a private tutor for his granddaughter Vivien, Duke volunteers to take the job and infiltrate the Caboot gang. He finds Vivien to be a bright, beautiful and basically good-natured young woman among a family of monsters. The patriarch dies and by a quirky choice names Vivien as family boss to take his place. Deadly feuds burst out raging, that in the end all of Vivien's family and Duke's own personal life become swept away. Duke and Vivien are left to survive and perhaps build a life together after all.
