1939, Poland. Germany has invaded Poland and captured Krakow. Some are hopeful that things can continue the way they were. Others know that things will never be the same.

Janek Sadowski is a jazz pianist in Krakow. The memory of what happened the day the Germans took Krakow still haunts him, no matter how much he tries to get back to normal, like his wife and the other members of their jazz quartet seem to have.

However, when the people around them start to disappear and he learns of a dangerous secret, he realizes that nobody around him has moved on from what happened. And now, it's his turn to fight the powers that be.

The battle for Krakow might be over, but the war is just beginning. And Janek is about to find himself right in the middle of it.All Rights Reserved

The twins must figure out how to adapt to staying with Mr. Vandel, their neighbor and his nephew, Fin, in his cottage in northern Poland.The only thing that could help was hope. Trigger Warning// This book contains graphic moments during the Holocaust. If you are someone who is quite uncomfortable with that topic, I recommend that you do not read this book.

He meets Annie Murphy, a cross dressing Irish immigrant whose real name is John. He believes he's a woman after a traumatic experience in the streets of Germany. He also meets Sven Kruspe, a depressed young man who ends up at Eichberg after a failed suicide attempt. Will Till and the others survive? Is there hope in their future?
