Supernatural creatures, or Breeds, exist. They always have and they always will. You've never noticed because of the Guardians. Guardians come from "Goldbloods." Superhumans--slow aging, agile, strong, intelligent creatures. Of those Goldbloods, some are give the Mark of the Guardian at birth. At the age of ten, they must leave their lives in the home world, Thanren, and reside on earth in clans, keeping the balance between the Breeds--werewolves, warlocks, vampires, and heathens--and humans. Isis Merit is one of six Guardians living at Benoit Manor under the guidance of Madame Lee and her brother, Drexel. Orphaned, Isis takes her Guardianship very seriously. Lethal, she was the most talented of the Manor. Free, with no real family to blood ties to hold her down...
