After a series of unfortunate events tore her family apart, Russian immigrant Anya Volkova has not had much to look forward to in her life, aside from going to Hogwarts. She hopes that when she gets there, she will end up finding a new family of her own and maybe even turn her life around.

However, when she finally makes her way to Hogwarts, what she does find is nothing like she ever dreamed of. With a band of misfits, a merciless bully, an unlikely friend in a rumoredly heartless professor, and a centuries-old mystery threatening to destroy Hogwarts from the inside out, Anya must try to break the curse and reunite what remains of her broken family - and perhaps face her own demons along the way.


This story only details the first three years of Anya's education at Hogwarts. I have decided not to go any further due to my belief that my messages of war and family have largely already been received. But I may write more stories giving glimpses into Anya's world and her future later on. For now, enjoy what you read here.

Note: When the Russian is in italics, the letter т is changed to look like a lowercase m; и looks like a u; and п looks like an n. I haven't figured out how to fix that yet. When I do, I will fix it.
