This is the first page of a potential novel idea... The plot is that a 7-year-old girl, Cordelia, gets into a car accident with her two parents on a road trip through Virginia. Her parents die, and she meets a kind older woman in a cottage in the middle of nowhere. The woman (who is also a scientist) takes her under her wing and decides to raise her. Little does that little girl know, the woman has been conducting experiments on her.
