*Disclaimer* I had originally posted this story before, but after working on it and making edits to the characters and plot, I decided that it became a new story onto itself and so here we are with the new and hopefully improved Project Enigma.*
The last few weeks have been the hardest for John Novak. Returning to school after recovering from a nearly-fatal car accident that claimed the life of a young child, he finds himself a social outcast but something is different inside him, something strange. He keeps experiencing weird humming noises in his head, the lights flicker whenever he walks into a room and he finds men in suits following him at a distance. John discovers that something in the accident caused him to change, change into something extraordinary.
John soon learns that he's not the only one in school with secrets and soon finds himself and others caught in a fight between two shadow organizations. One claims to want to help him and the other wants to hunt him and others like him. John will discover that some things should stay secrets as he must decide to save himself and his family or to make a stand and change the course of history forever.

TECHNICAL ISSUE, PLEASE READ: THE FIRST CHAPTER IS NOT THE ACTUAL FIRST CHAPTER. A glitch has scrambled the order of the chapters; I don't know if it's problem for everyone or just a mobile issue, but in any case they are numbered, so check the title to be sure you're reading in the correct order. Once, a Multiverse was born. Soon after its Creator made it, They realized it was chaotic and fragile: it needed Balance. It needed Guardians. Bonded pairs of soulmates, who would help and complement each other; the Creators decided to allow the Multiverse to regulate itself, to be independent, so They let Guardians form with minimal imput from Them and let soulmates meet each other naturally. They then sat and waited. And sure, maybe They wanted some meetings to go a certain way, and maybe They interfered a bit to make it happen, but that's what being a Creator it's all about! The passion! The drama! The parallels! When Creation and Destruction would meet, it was going to be amazing! or Error was minding his own business, living it up in the Antivoid, when suddenly he got an infestation of the worst kind: abominations! To get rid of all of the anomalies inside his house, our (unwilling) hero will have to travel across the Multiverse on a quest, accompanied by an unlikely sidekick. His journey will be long and perilous (and annoying), filled with danger, friendship, betrayal, books, crocheting, and even true love! Also gay panic. Some gay panic.
