In the year of 2021, a doctor named Jared Ortega found a cure for cancer. But what nobody expected was that the cure would turn on them. Generated with the help of the cancer treatment, a virus secretly hid within the DNA code of it's host. Slowly plaguing the body. And when it had taken over, for some unknown reason the disease self destructed, killing it's host.

Only affecting females, 27 percent of the population died. The virus had become contagious becoming world wide and eighteen months after initiation of the virus, 87 percent of the female population perished.

It became dangerous to be a female during this time.Women children, were locked up, isolated. Locked away, fearing the extinction of the human race.Others were sold for a last chance of pleasure and company of a women. Women became endangered. Literally.

I was two when the epidemic took over, when the virus killed my mother. It broke my father. He feared for my life knowing eventually it would take me as well. That never came.

I turned three a couple months after my mothers death, by then my father had decided to move my older brother and I to a town named Albuquerque in New Mexico. With the help of his position in government security he erased the existence of Maya Evans and created Michael Evans.

From that moment, I was denied the privilege to live a life of that of a girl. 

Because since then I am a boy.
