cli·ché [klee-shey, kli-]

noun

The dictionary defines cliché as 'a trite or hackneyed plot, character development, use of color, musical expression, etc.'

I'm proud to say that I am the perfect example for the definition of cliché. My name is Britney Alexis Jones and I am the cheer captain at Anna-Rose High. I'm blonde, of course, with blue eyes and perfectly tanned skin.

Now, there are several stereotypes against blondes. There's the Basic Blonde, the Bubbly Blonde, and then there's the Bitchy Blonde. I, most definitely, am sectioned under the Bitchy Blonde category.

Everyone wants to pretend that they hate us Bitchy Blondes, but we all know they secretly admire us. Society views us so negatively, not because we're just plain mean, but because we say what we want, when we want- something that they don't have the lady balls to do. That's what is so admirable about us. We don't care and go by our own rules. We're ruthless and unstoppable. And that- ladies and gentlemen- is why we 'Bitchy Blondes' are so annoyingly admirable.

I know it's wrong to enjoy being categorized under such a negative title, but it's hard not to when it feels so right.

I shrunk back into my seat as his head snapped towards me. He looked like his head was going to fall off. His eyes were blazing with rage. His face was set into an icy glare. His fists that rested on the table were clenched so hard his knuckles were white. As he stood from his chair so did I. I felt like the prey to the biggest predator in the jungle. I took two steps back for every stride he took towards me. I gulped again before shaking me head. "She's just joking Ace." my voice quivered as I took another two steps back. "How do I know that?" he sneered down at me, his body towering over me. As I went to take another step backwards, my back made contact with the wall behind me. Well great. Now I'm cornered. This is just typical. ............................................................. One girl moves to the big apple after her family disintegrates around her. All she has left is her one brother. In which I fall in love with my brother's best friend. ***** "Don't pretend like you don't feel anything." His voice is low, sending shivers down my spine. "What do you mean?" "You know damn well what I mean." "I don't know what you're talking about." I pretend to ignore him, flipping some pages in my book. "Come on. I have all these assignments waiting. Aren't you supposed to teach me tonight?" "It depends on what you want me to teach." He smirks, his voice sounding even more dangerous. ***** I thought that my brother was the most popular guy in school, but as soon as I step into my university life, I realize how wrong I was. Meet Vaughn Cooper, his best friend. The guy is the epitome of every girl's dream. Godlike handsome. The quarterback. He's got the looks, and he's got the brain. Come on, he's got the scholarship to one of the most prestigious universities in the country, while I have just barely passed the entrance examination after long years of struggle during high school. How could a guy who worked that hard and deserves nothing more but adoration be labeled as a bad boy? Yeah, the answer is simple. The moment we lock eyes, I realize something as I stare into those piercing, amber eyes. He's not every girl's dream. He's every girl's nightmare. In my case, MY nightmare. Calm down, heart. Not every blonde is stupid. In the South if you're a beautiful, blonde, blue-eyed girl high expectations are made. Either you're not extremely smart, so you find yourself a suitable husband to take care of you. Or you are smart and you just pretend to be dumb so you find yourself a suitable husband to take care of you. All her life Avery Skinner has been told what to do and how to do it- by everyone. By her mother, the girls she calls friends, the guys in school, teachers, family, even Mark the mailman. Needless to say, she's sick of it. Its time Avery took control of her life or at least get a firm grip on the sucker. She's loved football ever since she was a little girl. Yet she could never play because ladies aren't supposed to do such barbaric things. Especially in the South- unless its a rodeo and you're wearing those ridiculously tight outfits that show you're navel or showing you can hold your liquor. Avery has longed to be on the field, throwing the ball instead of cheering on the team her dad coaches that can't seem to win. Then her best friend Austin forces Avery to and for sometime everyone is fooled. But the truth can only be hidden for so long. The moment the townsfolk of Stonehenge, Alabama learned it was a girl under that helmet, was the moment true colors showed. It hasn't been easy and it won't get any better but Avery is here to play. * Avery is going to face REAL life problems, and not nice people. She's going to deal with sexual harassment, mean words, rude people, pregnancy, injuries, steroids, etc.. In this story I want to exemplify how sexist and cruel humans can be. There will be hard moments, but I want to put it out there because it IS a serious problem. Harsh language and such will be present. You have been warned, don't read it then complain. "This book is the perfect mixture of deep and hilarious. I'm in love with that" - crackhead4ever Teen fiction has given cheerleaders a bad rap. And stereotypical appearances. Courtney knows this. She is a cheerleader. Is she a pretty blonde with blue eyes? Well, yes. Is she popular and perky? ...okay. Yes, again. Is she stuck up and cruel to others for no reason? Ha! There! No to that one. In fact, she's worked for years to portray the perfect image of an upbeat, easy going person. An image that gets harder to hold on to when: The new girl takes an instant dislike to her. Her best friend decides to run against her for Senior Class President. Her football team captain boyfriend breaks up with her. And, oh yeah, she humiliates herself in front of the whole school. Yup, that perfect image is falling apart. "I love how this book is different from other teen fiction books It's like a breath of fresh air from the same old tropes😄 💕" - LaraAmethyst "I loooove this book so much already aghhh" - therealbhavie "I'm hooked- I- I think that's all im gonna say before I run to read the next chapter" - grumpymood "So excited for the next chapter! Characters are complex and unique, the plot continuously thickens, and I'm already waiting to see what happens next. I can't wait!" - Rspicy #1 in TeenLife #2 in TeenLove #5 in TeenFiction
