In a parallel universe, where witches and wizards are real, one girl must fight her way through trolls, mastering magic, and the biggest struggle of all - school. Each witch and wizard must learn the fundamentals of basic magic, and those with true ability will advance to more complicated spell casting. It is also a requirement to master one of the elements during a choosing ceremony at the age of sixteen. Clover Smith is a month away from her choosing ceremony, but has one problem - she has mastered all five of the elements! Her best friend Greg Haddock is the only one who knows, and with his help - and possibly the help of their enemy, Josh Fernandez - they will decide whether or not Clover should tell her peers her special abilities, or hide them from power-hungry headmaster Grundy.
