Life in the ghettos is usually unbearable. Overcrowding is common. One apartment having several families living in it. Plumbing breaking down, and human waste thrown in the streets along with the garbage. Contagious diseases spreading rapidly in such cramped, unsanitary housing. People are always hungry.
